Incident Summary:

06/19/2009: On Friday, in Nembe, Bayelsa, Nigeria, in an effort to further leverage their negotiations with the government, assailants detonated explosives on oil pipeline run by the Italian firm Eni SpA, damaging the pipeline. No casualties were reported and the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) claimed responsibility.
