06/18/2009: On Thursday morning, in central As Sa'diyah, Diyala, Iraq, assailants detonated a roadside improvised explosive device near the motorcade transporting Ahmad Zarkoushi, the city's mayor, in the al-Asri neighborhood, wounding eight people, including the mayor and damaging two motorcade vehicles. There was no motive reported and no group claimed responsibility.
