06/10/2009: On Wednesday morning at 900, in Al Bathah, Dhi Qar, Iraq, assailants detonated a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device in a predominantly Shia outdoor vegetable market crowded with shoppers, killing 28 civilians and five children, wounding 45, and damaging the market. No group claimed responsibility, but authorities suspected that the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) perpetrated this attack.
