Incident Summary:

03/22/2009: On Sunday at about 1800, in Kidapawan, Cotabato, Philippines, assailants detonated an improvised explosive device on a pedestrian overpass, wounding nine civilians and damaging the overpass and several nearby shops. It is suspected that the attack was motivated by extortion, but no group claimed responsibility, although authorities believed either the Moro Islamic Liberation Front members under a rogue leader was responsible, but the group denied responsibility.
