3/16/2009: An improvised explosive device detonated in Oued Essania, Tebessa province, Algeria. Two people, a father and his son, were killed in the explosion. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, Al-Qa ida in the Lands of the Islamic Maghreb (AQLIM) is believed to be involved.
