Incident Summary:

03/04/2009: On Wednesday, an improvised explosive device (IED) planted near a public market in Pikit town in North Cotabato province in the southern Philippines was found and defused. The IED was located in a handbag, and was made up of a small tin can with a nine-volt battery attached to a Nokia cell phone as the triggering device. No group has claimed responsibility, though it is believed that the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) was responsible in retaliation for the loss of eight rebels that were killed the previous Monday.
