Incident Summary:
02/03/2009: On Tuesday, Baluchistan Liberation Army (Balochistan) militants kidnapped six employees of an oil and gas exploring company as they were travelling in a vehicle in Margat in Machh, Balochistan, Pakistan. The abducted were identified as Muhammad Ali, Abbas Hussain, Muhammad Tahir, Zafarullah, Nurullah, and Muhammad Asif. No casualties were reported.

Criteria 1

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. For example, in a typical successful bombing, the bomb detonates and destroys property and/or kills individuals, whereas an unsuccessful bombing is one in which the bomb is discovered and defused or detonates early and kills the perpetrators. Success is not judged in terms of the larger goals of the perpetrators.
