01/16/2009: On Friday, a bomb exploded at Santa Isabel supermarket when a security guard handled the backpack in which the bomb was concealed in Santiago, Santiago, Chile. The security guard suffered minor injuries, however no property damage was reported. This was one of three related bomb attacks in Santiago. No group has claimed responsibility.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
