Incident Summary:

12/13/2008: On Saturday, in Kapsi village, Kanker, Chhattisgarh, India, approximately 100 armed assailants held dozens of villagers hostage for approximately three hours, then set fire to a telecommunications facility belonging to Bharat Sanchar Nigam, Limited (BNSL) and a communications tower belonging to Reliance Communications (R-Com), damaging equipment but causing no casualties. No group claimed responsibility, but authorities believed the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) was responsible.
