10/16/2008: On Thursday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, unknown gunmen abducted the wife of Nigerian senator, Aliysius Etok, from her car as she was driving home. According to authorities, the gunmen approached the vehicle while it was stopped, and force Mrs. Etok from the vehicle. Exact method of extraction is unknown and took her to an unknown location. A $66,400 ransom has been requested for her release. No group claimed responsibility.
