Incident Summary:

08/22/2008: On Friday evening at 2130, Dr. Milagros Yap was abducted by suspected Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebels at the Cotabato Regional Medical Center in Cotabato City, Maguindanao province, Philippines. Yap was rescued before midnight after troops engaged her kidnappers in a firefight that left one rebel killed. No claim of responsibility was made for the incident.
