Incident Summary:
3/2/2008: Twelve suspected members of Al-Qa ida in the Lands of the Islamic Maghreb (AQLIM), armed with Kalashnikovs and grenades, stormed into the Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (BADR) and a post office in Tizi Rached, Algeria. During the attack, which lasted about one hour, around one million centimes were stolen and a policeman was killed as he tried to intervene. Additionally, the bank and post office were damaged by grenade blasts and the police officer's firearm was stolen.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
