11/17/2007: A homemade bomb constructed from an 81mm mortar shell was found by members of the Philippine public in Cotabato City, and an army bomb squad was able to detonate the device without incident. No group claimed responsibility for the planted bomb, but authorities suspect that the extremist Abu Sayyaf Group was responsible.
