Incident Summary:

11/01/2007: Unidentified insurgents in Iraq attempted to assassinate the Police Chief of Basra when they detonated a bomb near his vehicle. The attack occurred in Basra city of the Basra governorate of Iraq. Two of the chiefs guards were wounded and the vehicle was damaged, but the police chief was unhurt.
