Incident Summary:

06/06/2007: Jalat Khan, an Afghan Police district commander, was killed by shrapnel when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Taliban perpetrators detonated when another Afghan Police officer fired on the IED in an attempt to defuse it in the morning on a roadside in Yahyakhel District, Paktika Province, Afghanistan. The Taliban later claimed responsibility for the attack.
