06/05/2007: Private Narong Pengpiban, a Thai soldier tasked with safeguarding teachers, was wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by unknown perpetrators detonated adjacent to his patrol vehicle as he was checking the Yala-Betong road in front of a school in Tambon Than To, Yala Province, Thailand. No claim of responsibility was reported.
