05/13/2007: Handungamuwe Nandarathana, a Buddhist monk, was shot and killed by unidentified assailants as he was leaving his temple in Trincomalee area, Sri Lanka. The victim was a member of the Sinhalese majority, but could preach in Tamil. Identity of the assailants and the motive behind the killing are unknown.
