Incident Summary:

04/18/2007: A suicide car bomber crashed into an Iraqi police checkpoint at an entrance to Sadr City in Baghdad, Iraq; the capital's biggest Shi ite neighborhood. The explosion killed at least 41 people, including five Iraqi security officers, and wounded 76. Due to the nature of the attack, authorities suspected Sunni militants were responsible. No claim of responsibility was reported.
