Incident Summary:

2/22/2007: Unknown perpetrators, believed to be affiliated with the Islamic insurgency in Algeria, planted a homemade bomb on a road near the village of Ait-Aissa-Ouziane, Algeria. The explosive device was discovered by an Algerian citizen and defused by the police. It is suspected that the bomb, constructed to be detonated remotely, was intended to target Algerian security forces.
