02/20/2007: A suspected Islamic militant shot dead a female provincial minister (Zill-e Huma, the Punjab province minister for social welfare) at a political meeting in Gujranwala city, Pakistan. The militant killed her because she was not observing the Islamic code of dress and was campaigning for emancipation of women. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
