08/26/2006: Three communist rebels and one soldier were killed in a gun battle in the southern Philippines after the guerrillas detonated a landmine near a military convoy in the Agusan del Sur Province. In addition, three other soldiers were killed in the fighting. The New People’s Army (NPA) was responsible for the incident.
