Incident Summary:

05/23/2006: In one of five incidents during recent peace talks in India’s Kashmir region (200605210005, 200605220009, 200605250006, 200605310005), a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-filled car into a Border Security Force (BSF) vehicle, killing one soldier and wounding twenty-six others. The group Hizbul Mujahidin claimed responsibility for the attack. The road this occurred on was the same that Indian President Singh was to take a day later on his way to a roundtable discussion about the Kashmir situation.
