Additional Information This is the first instance of a Karuna faction attack on the network of LTTE camps in the Trincomalee (District) and Sampur camps considered to be the LTTE headquarters in the East. --The entire Muthur area shook with the sound of the explosion and the residents of the area were agitated and filled with fear. The security forces believed that the loud explosion was a result of large quantities of bombs in the camp exploding simultaneously, following the Karuna faction assault. The 10 injured LTTE cadres and the civilian injured, who was in his garden of a residence close to the camp, were admitted to Thileepan, the LTTE hospital in Sampur.
