10/17/2005: Suspected members of the New People's Army's (NPA) attacked members of the Philippine Army’s 78th Infantry Battalion in Sumon, Philippines. Three soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in the surprise attack. No group claimed responsibility for the assault.
