Incident Summary:

04/01/2005: Using an explosive device, insurgents attacked an Iraqi minaret in Samarra, Iraq, known as the Malwiya Tower. The explosion happened shortly have two men were seen descending from the top of the structure. The blasts left the tower immensely damaged, with a two-meter hole in the top of the minaret, which locals have accused US troops of using as a sniper position; no casualties resulted from this attack.
