Incident Summary:

10/19/2004: Margaret Hassan, the British-born head of the Iraq operations for CARE International and a naturalised Iraqi national, was kidnapped in Baghdad, Iraq. She was held hostage for about one month before her captors killed her on videotape. Though the perpetrator group was not known, in May 2005 five men reportedly confessed to the killing of Hassan. Further information on the suspects was not available.
