Incident Summary:

04/04/2004: In Nasiriyah, Iraq, two South Korean human rights workers were kidnapped by members of the Mahdi Army. A spokesman for the perpetrators, Sayyed Riyad, said that they would be held until Italian forces stopped fighting and left the region. However, the hostages were released unharmed 14 hours later, without any action by the Italian forces.
