Incident Summary:

11/05/2003: Unknown gunmen attacked two United Nations peacekeeping bases in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, wounding one peacekeeper from Bangladesh. Peacekeepers stationed in the UN base at Bunia returned fire. Although no group claimed responsibility for the shootings, locals suspected that members of the Union of Congolese Patriots were behind both attacks.
