Incident Summary:
05/26/2003: Suspected anti-globalization protesters bombed a government building that housed the federal mint and defense ministry offices in Berne, Switzerland. The bombing caused damage to the building but no casualties. In a fax sent to Swiss media, an anonymous group claimed responsibility for the attack. The group claimed the blast was designed to draw attention to the "security strategy" of the Swiss authorities during the upcoming G8 summit, due to start on June 1, 2003.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
There must be evidence of an intention to coerce, intimidate, or convey some other message to a larger audience (or audiences) than the immediate victims.
