Incident Summary:

04/12/2003: Three Malaysian journalists and five Malaysian Medical Relief Society workers were attacked by a group of unknown armed militiamen in Baghdad, Iraq. Datuk Dr. Jemilah Mahmood and colleague Dr. Baba Deni suffered gunshot wounds, and an Iraqi pharmacist and a Syrian driver were killed in the incident. The three Malaysian journalists were also kidnapped in the event. The journalists were released unharmed after being held captive for three hours.
