Incident Summary:

02/10/2003: At around 6:30AM local time, US Special Forces looking for weapons caches and enemy personnel in the area north of Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan were fired upon by machine gun and RPG fire by assailants overlooking Bagram Valley. In response, a number of F-16 fighter jets were scrambled, which dropped five 500-pound bombs onto targeted hillside caves and at least five armed individuals. There was no information on perpetrator casualties or injuries, and the US Military suffered no injuries or casualties.
