Incident Summary:

01/26/2003: Krishna Mohan Shrestha, the Inspector General of Nepal’s Armed Police Force, was shot and killed outside his home in Kathmandu along with his wife and a bodyguard. The hit was presumed to be carried out by Maoist rebels active throughout Nepal. One of the alleged attackers, Krishna Hari Sainju, was wounded in the shootout and detained.
