Incident Summary:

01/16/2003: Indian Border Security Forces operating in Kashmir detected a large bomb planted in the main road running though Hajan township. The explosive, composed of roughly 20 kilograms of RDX explosive, was also rigged with eleven hand grenades to prevent tampering. Indian authorities suspect that the bomb was meant to target Akbar Lone, a member of the state assembly and local leader of the National Conference party, who was set to visit Hajan within the following few days.
