Incident Summary:
12/27/2002: Unknown perpetrators, believed to be affiliated with the Islamic insurgency in Algeria, remotely detonated a bomb targeting a Judicial Police Mobile Brigade (BMPJ) patrol on a search operation travelling on a road in Sidi Salem, Algeria. One policeman was killed and five others were wounded. The BMPJ vehicle was damaged by the blast as well.

Criteria 1
