Incident Summary:

09/22/2002: Five suspected militants belonging to Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) opened fire on an advance party for a US humanitarian mission and their Philippine escorts near Tuburan on Basilan Island. One gunman, Sabbadin Sabudin, was killed in the fire fight and another was wounded. There were no other causalities reported in the incident.
