Incident Summary:

08/26/2002: Spanish police defused a bomb planted by the Euskadi ta Askatasuna (ETA) near a courthouse in Tolosa, Spain. A caller saying he spoke for ETA warned the Gara pro-independence newspaper of the bomb attack only 40 minutes before the device was timed to go off. The operation came hours after the Spanish parliament voted to ban the Basque separatist party. There were no casualties in this incident.
