Incident Summary:

08/06/2002: Mercenaries coming from Central African Republic (CAR) attacked a Chadian position at the border between Chad and CAR, in the Sido region. About 20 people were killed in the fighting including 2 Chadian soldiers and 10 other mercenaries were made prisoners. This attack came one week before the Khartoum summit during which border security issues between Chad and CAR were to be discussed.
