11/23/2001: Seven Chechen rebels attacked Russian soldiers with automatic weapons and grenade launchers near the District centre at Shali, 15 miles southeast of Grozny, Shalinsky District, Chechnya. Two soldiers were killed and three were wounded in the incident.
