09/03/2001: Chechen rebels detonated a bomb composed of TNT on the second floor of the main Russian government building in Chechnya, killing one woman, Khizhan Orziyeva, but leaving pro-Moscow administration chief, Akhmad Kadyrov, unharmed. No group claimed responsibility for the attack, although Chechen rebels had placed a price on Kadyrov's head prior to the explosion.
