08/28/2001: A bomb was found and defused near the United States Consulate in Florence, Italy. A message found nearby that reportedly contained anti-Israel slogans and phrases in support of Palestinians. The bomb was inside a cardboard box that had been placed in front of a gasoline pump. No perpetrators were identified.
