Incident Summary:

09/15/2000: During late night 09/15/2000, militants detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in Fazlabad village, Surankote District, while an Indian Army patrol was passing by. The explosion killed one Indian soldier, and injured another. The Indian Army immediately sealed off the area and searched the village for militants, but the militants were able to escape capture.
