09/11/2000: At 3 am on September 11, 2000, an unidentified individual on a motorcycle hurled a homemade grenade at the Baiturrahamn Police Sub-precinct office in Banda Aceh. The office's terrace suffered minor damage. The Banda Aceh Police Chief believed the explosion was premeditated because an officer at the station had noticed a man suspiciously loitering in front of the office before the blast. The individual was not caught, the police did not suspect any particular group of responsibility, and no group claimed responsibility for the incident.
