Incident Summary:

8/7/2000: Five unidentified assailants opened fire in a targeted attack on Le Piscine bar in L'Ile-Rousse, upper Corsica, France. Jean-Michel Rossi and his bodyguard, Jean-Claude Fratacci, were shot dead in the attack and a bartender was injured. Rossi was former member of Corsica's nationalist Cuncolta Naziunalista party and the right hand of it's leader, Francois Santoni. Rossi and Santoni had just published a book that denounced the party. Authorities are not certain whether the attack was politically motivated or instigated by the criminal underworld.
