Incident Summary:

7/18/2000: Yusup Soslambekov, the head of the Confederation of Peoples of the Caucasus, was shot and wounded in front of his home in southwestern Moscow, Russia. The unidentified gunmen fled after the attack and the motive is unknown. Soslambekov died from his injuries while still in the hospital on July 20, 2000.
