06/18/2000: A remote control bomb exploded in eastern Sri Lanka killing a local Police Chief and wounding two others on the roadside in the Ampara District of Sri Lanka. Police suspected that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) were behind the attack.
