Incident Summary:

06/09/2000: Eight days after a ceasefire was signed between the government and pro-independence rebels, suspected rebels of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) ambushed several Indonesian police officers as they pulled down a red, black and white separatist flag in the village of Cot Trieng, 150k east of Banda Aceh. Indonesia. An officer was shot in the head and had been hospitalized in a critical condition.
