01/28/2000: In northeastern Sri Lanka, three navy sailors were killed when the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) group opened fire on the sailors who were distributing food to their colleagues. The sailors were attacked with rocket propelled grenades and automatic gunfire.
