11/17/1999: A wealthy Filipino businessman, Ralph Fonda, was kidnapped by two armed men believed to be members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in Ipil, Zamboanga del Sur Province, Philippines. The kidnappers also attempted to kidnap Fonda's wife and son, but the two escaped. No information could be found regarding the outcome of this incident.
