Incident Summary:

11/13/1999: Dan Ekpebide, the President of the Federated Niger Delta Ijaw Communities (FNDIC) was attacked in his home in Warri, Nigeria by Ijaw youths. Ekpebide was roughed up and his house ransacked and looted. The attack coincided with a kidnapping of 18 people by Ijaw militants who had traveled on a boat on the Benin River near North Warri.
