Incident Summary:

08/09/1999: In Batticaloa, Sri Lanka, a suicide bomber walked up to Major K. Karunanayake, hugged him and then set off a set of explosives. Both the bomber and Karunanayake were killed in the attack. Officials suspected that the bomber was from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
